Background

• Works under general direction of the Controller in a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment
• Employee hired and allocated to this level of the series are advanced professional accountants who perform complex, specialized accounting duties, and/or who supervise junior employees engaged in various accounting functions or other fiscal operations. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity

Tasks

• Cash flow, cash receipts, daily checks and banking transfers
• Reporting requirements for audits
• Prepare reports for accounts receivable collections and credit
• Cross trained payroll processing of production personnel and offsite payroll
• Plan and develop cost standards and fixed asset schedules; record additions and disposals, depreciation reports
• Oversee reconciliations
• File 5500s
• Maintain departmental budgets, work with key stakeholders
• Reconciliation of inner company transactions
• Direct the day-to-day operation of SAGE accounting system
• Prepare reporting monthly to managers on overtime spend
• Maintain equipment records, depreciation schedules
• Prepare personal property declaration
• Prepare external audit work papers/files
• Prepare appropriate commentary or explanations relating to report items of particular interest or significance (may use judgment as to what is of interest); conduct pertinent investigation of accounts involved
• Assist in review, development and implementation of consistent organizational accounting practices and procedures
• Identify problems and changing requirements and recommend changes or modifications regarding management information needs, auditing and other fiscal procedures, account structures or reports and automated accounting systems
• All other reports or projects required by the Controller

 Specifications

• S. in Accounting
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in professional level Accounting work

 Knowledge of:

• • Theories, principles, methods and procedures of professional accounting (Extensive level)
  • Office methods and procedures (Broad level)
  • Automated data processing systems
• Skill in:
  • Operation of office accounting machines and equipment
  • Data processing with attention to detail and documentation
  • Working effectively and efficiently on multiple projects at once
  • Responding to rapidly changing demands
• Ability to:
  • Evaluate complex accounting problems
  • Analyze and interpret complex accounting records and reports
  • Review and/or perform detailed work involving written or numerical calculations rapidly and accurately
  • Prepare comprehensive reports completely and accurately
  • Supervise a staff of subordinates engaged in accounting activities
  • Deal tactfully with controversial problems
  • Work effectively with others
  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
