Background

Works under general direction of the R&D Laboratory Manager in a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards. Employees in positions at this level exercise a considerable degree of independence in conducting a wide range of analytics requiring expertise in application, adaptation of research theory, analytical techniques and instrumentation to produce desired results.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support of Jost Product Lines and Customer Inquiries

• • Communication with customers through either the sales or marketing departments regarding the general performance of Jost Chemical's product line in a timely manner including recommendations on product choice, resolving problems and providing solutions.
  • Conduct research and preparation of data, formal reports, white papers and/or samples addressing physical/chemical attributes of current and future Jost Chemical product lines per customer or internal request.
  • Interface with, instruct and learn from, production and project engineers, sales and marketing, customers and quality control chemists.

• Analyzing, interpreting and reporting data including presentation of results.
• May perform work related to the next lower level in this series as needed

• Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Monitor RFT (Right First Time) data and investigate/implement protocols to maximize quality compliance.
  • Assist in QA investigations stemming from customer complaints and non-conforming product.
  • Conduct research on customer complaint material and assist in root cause analysis/corrective action.
  • Conduct analytical testing on customer complaint material and assist in root cause analysis/corrective action.
  • Collaborate with CAPA owners on Investigation of non-conformance.
  • Collaborate with CAPA owners and cross functional team to develop Investigation plan and adhere to CAPA timelines.
  • Assist QA and Operations with root cause analysis.
  • Responsible for technical data for the CAPA file.
  • Continually assess the CAPA system and procedures for continual improvement.
  • Analyzing, interpreting and reporting data including presentation of results
  • Lead investigations into non-conforming or under-performing products

Attributes

• Professional level chemist (MS or PhD preferred), manufacturing experience is recommended. Preferred Knowledge of:
  • Theories, principles, and methods of instrumental and wet chemistry.
  • Process chemistry including, but not limited to, crystallizations, precipitations, tableting, granulation, micro-encapsulation, compaction, flowability, drying, milling and packaging.
  • Method development and method validation
  • Mathematics and statistics
  • Basic analytical laboratory equipment
  • MS Office software package

  • Working effectively in a team environment
  • Responding to rapidly changing demands

• Hours are during day shift with the possibility for weekend and night shift work if production schedules dictate change in hours or as need arises.
