Jost Chemical is seeking ambitious, hard-working underclassman to work as a summer intern supporting our Project Engineering Manager and Team.

Position: Project Engineering Intern-Summer 2022

• Works under general direction of the Project Engineering Manager in a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment

Tasks

• Assist with mechanical parts inventory management and organization for large capital projects.
• Assist with controls and instrumentation parts inventory management and organization for large capital projects.
• Assist with ordering mechanical and controls parts as well as small hardware for capital projects.
• Learn to read Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and perform as-built checks of piping and instruments on new installations.
• Utilize AutoCAD software to update P&IDs per as-built status.
• Work closely with in-house engineering and maintenance departments.
• Represent the Company in communication with other organizations (vendors/contractors) to resolve questions, plan and coordinate work.
• Perform all operations according to prescribed safety principles.
• Assist with preparation of cost estimates and project schedules for capital projects.

Specifications

• Active student in a BS program of Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Motivation and willingness to learn and apply new skills immediately
• Ability to:
  • work independently once given direction
  • work in a manufacturing plant environment
  • communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • work under the direction of multiple engineers to assist the group at large
