Production Inventory Control Manager

Background

• Works under general direction of the Plant Operations in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards.
• Applies a mastery of analytical skills and knowledge of industry standards and regulations to identify and prioritize production requirements, raw material usage, maximization of rework usage, coordinate the flow of materials and process equipment to meet customer service objectives and support sales growth plans at the lowest inventory costs. These duties are performed with considerable latitude and minimal supervision.

Tasks

• Manage finished goods and raw material warehouse operations
• Monitor raw material usage and work with purchasing for ordering raw material
• Determine what rework should be scrapped versus reprocessed
• Work with Area Managers to get rework into production as efficiently as possible
• Keep track of inventory
• With Sales Coordinator, determine appropriate inventory levels, including customer satisfaction, turn overs, cost of warehousing, etc.
• Work with Sales Coordinator for most optimal production run sizes
• Identify scheduling constraints and bottlenecks and test various methods and strategies to reduce or eliminate those constraints (e.g. bulk size, availability, fills time, warehouse space, etc.)
• Communicate goals and work with Area Managers
• Evaluate, test, recommend and/or implement changes that could improve service, cycle time, throughput efficiency, inventory levels, etc.
• Enhance site safety
• Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management for the betterment of Jost operations

Specifications

• BS degree in Chemistry or Business or any other related field preferred
• Five (5) years production scheduling/documentation work experience
• Knowledge of:
  • Advanced levels mathematics and English comprehension
  • Advanced level of manufacturing capabilities and processes
  • Basic level of safety, health and environmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures
  • Advanced MS office software package
• Skill in:
  • Organization and documentation
  • Scheduling and forecasting processes
  • Interpersonal competencies such as relationship bulking, teamwork, conflict resolution and customer orientation
  • Strategic and original thinking, judgment and decision-making
• Ability to:
  • Work in plant environment under hot and cold temperatures
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide variety of internal and external constituents
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Multi-task with strong attention to detail accuracy
  • Adopt to rapidly changing priorities based on business needs
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen
