Network, System and Security Engineer

Position: Full time

Network, System and Security Engineer

Position: Full time

Background

The Network, System and Security Engineer is responsible for the design, selection, configuration, maintenance, operation, and security of Jost Chemical's network infrastructure (wired and wireless), servers (physical and virtual), desktops, and security systems. They ensure that Jost's network and all related systems are functional and ready to accommodate system users when and where needed.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Installs, configures, tests and maintains servers, switches, and related networking equipment.
2. Performs all critical data backups and secures data according to established procedures.
3. Installs firmware and security updates on servers, printers, and related networking equipment.
4. Configures and maintains Microsoft Active Directory.
5. Installs, configures, and maintains IPS/IDS, Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, AntiMalware, for maximum internal network protection.
6. Maintains Unified Communications, VoIP, and any related equipment, services, and platforms.
7. Maintains all data used for redundancy efforts and assists with remediation efforts as result of test findings and risk assessments.
8. Assists with software upgrades and installations.
9. Monitors security systems and responds to issues.
10. Provides support and training to first level IT support group.
11. Maintains imaging system to assist with desktop deployment.
12. Establishes server and desktop standard configurations.
13. Configure and maintain ITSM.
    • Monitor ticketing system for patterns.
    • Assist with problem resolution whenever possible
14. Maintain accurate records necessary to document network and systems.
15. Performs such other duties as required from time to time.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires an advanced proficiency in the operation of local and wide-area networks and components.
• Proficiency with current Microsoft Server and Client operating systems.
• Proficiency in Cisco/Meraki installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Must be able to perform duties accurately and independently and be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to collaborate with members and associates in person or over the phone, in a courteous, pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
• Discretion, accuracy, and clarity in communication are essential.
• A high degree of professionalism regarding safeguarding sensitive data is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, carry, or pull. You may be required to climb, bend or squat on occasion. You must regularly lift and/or move 20-35 pounds and occasionally lift or pull 35-80 pounds.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related IT specialization.
• Have at least 3 years of similar or related experience.
• Experience and professional certification may be substituted for degree requirement.
