Background

• Works under direct supervision of the Plant Manager in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards.

• Performs routine inspection of product that has been packaged of dry and liquid chemicals for storage or transport. The work process involves steps that are repetitive in character, requiring

• Careful adherence to well-established instructions

• Cleans off and inspects packages before internal shipment

Tasks

• Ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
• Gets product ready for internal shipping to warehouse
• Tests and evaluates product and verifies product weight or measurement to ensure quality standards
• Inspects and removes defective product and packaging material, separating rejected items
• Secures finished packaged items by hand tying, sewing, or attaching fastener
• Checks identification to make sure there is markings on the package
• Palletizes finished packaged items or packs items in cartons or containers
• Operates hand truck or fork lift
• Enhances forklift and site safety, per procedure #713
• Receives all incoming shipment; verifies all items and orders match product scheduling; pay special attention to quantity and quality.
• Receives, unloads, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated area by use of company fork truck and fork lifts.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers, if necessary.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for distribution by other workers.
• Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment, as required
• Unloads and loads trucks at 8150 dock
• Position will be back up to unload trucks at 8130 dock
• ALL material handlers should bring finished goods from 8130 to 8150 when traveling back and forth
• Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management for the betterment of Jost operations

Specifications

• High school diploma or GED
• CDL with HazMat Endorsement Drivers License
• Knowledge of:
  • Mathematics and English comprehension (Basic level)
  • Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods (Basic level)
  • Safety, health and environmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures
• Skill in:
  • Operation control and monitoring
  • Forklift driving and safety
• Ability to:
  • Work in extreme cold and hot (120 F) environment
  • Comprehend oral and written English instruction
  • Lift 55 pounds; competency in operation and safety standards of fork lifts, fork trucks, and dock equipment operations
  • Follow established policies and procedures
  • Abide by all safety requirements
  • Exhibit manual dexterity, perceptual speed and extent flexibility
  • Adopt to rapidly changing priorities based on business needs
  • Pass pre-employment physical with drug screen and physical capabilities test
  • Squat to touch floor 10 times without assistance
  • Lifting: Graduated lift to 55 pounds in box 4" to 57"
  • Lifting: Stack 40, 55 lbs. bags within 10 minutes
  • Push at least 102 lbs. from any height.
  • Pull an average of 100 lbs. at 36"
  • Ascends/Descends vertical ladder 15 rungs (8 rungs 2 times)
  • Lifting: 30 lbs. to workers overhead extension for 1 repetition
  • Simulation of scraping movement: 20 lbs. CW/CCW for 2 minutes @ 18 ht.
  • Simulation of opening/closing a valve with cross bar at 60 ht.
  • Maneuver: 185 lbs. floor to 4" one time
