Human Resources Coordinator

Position: Full time

Background

  • Works under direction of HR Manager and HR Generalist
  • Supports Human Resources by assisting in talent acquisition, organizing and maintaining personnel records, preparing HR documents, employee onboarding, etc.

Tasks

  • Supports Talent Acquisition Specialist to recruit qualified applicant pool.
  • Perform duties related to applicant processing and screening (initial screening and reference/background checking, evaluation of qualifications with respect to specifications, employment eligibility, tracking of pre-employment screen completion)
  • Aids team members regarding benefit and human resource questions and issues in a timely matter.
  • Maintaining electronic employee personnel files
  • Maintains phone lines and telephone calls in a timely manner, direct properly and take messages.
  • Greet visitors in a professional friendly manner.
  • Preparing employee manuals, training manuals, and other employee related information.
  • Assisting with employee enrollments and terminations.
  • Working closely with payroll on employee questions.
  • Administer appropriate standardized tests and recommend qualified candidates to respective departments for more detailed assessment
  • Ensure that recently hired employees have adapted successfully
  • Providing written and verbal employment verifications.
  • Coordinating new hire paperwork and new hire orientation meetings.
  • Coordinating and setting-up training classes, meetings, and interviews.
  • Assisting with maintaining applicant tracking database; reviewing, screening, and maintaining applications and resumes.
  • Producing company monthly announcements.
  • Assisting in preparation in company events and gifts such as Anniversary dinner, company picnic, and other company gatherings, etc.
  • Assisting with providing compliance in all areas of human resources.
  • Assisting with additional projects, as assigned.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management for the betterment of Jost operations.

Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, Human Resources and/or recruitment experience one- two (1-2) years
  • Great organizational skills
  • Knowledge of:
    • Human resource practices and procedures (Broad level)
    • Federal, state and local laws, rules and/or regulations affecting HR administration (Broad level)
    • Mathematics (Basic level)
    • Office methods and procedures (Broad level)
    • MS Office and Lotus Notes software package
  • Ability to:
    • Work independently with sound judgment
    • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a wide variety of people
    • Multi-task and work with frequent distractions
    • Understand and interpret written procedures and guidelines
    • Assist in formulation/revision of HR policies and procedures
    • Operate electronic and/or standard office equipment
    • Maintain confidentiality
  • Skill in:
    • Organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data
    • Completing tasks with high level of accuracy
    • Project management
    • Customer service and dealing with a wide variety of people at all levels
