Costing Manager-Financial Analysis

Reports to Controller

The Costing Manager-Financial Analysis will be working under the general direction of the Controller, providing accounting and analytical support to various operating groups in the area of inventory valuation and product costing, to ensure accounting accuracy as well as to support business decision making. This is a great role for someone who appreciates challenges and aspires to make an impact with one's skills and knowledge. This role supports both Jost US and Jost Poland. This is an individual contributor position.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation; evaluate for and act on process improvement opportunity where applicable.
  • Develop various financial analyses related to manufacturing costs, product margin, and inventory level for various products as needed. Create periodic reports analyzing variances and discussing underlying drivers to provide operational insights and to seek for savings opportunities.
  • Perform item cost maintenance and item cost analysis, standard labor/overhead rate development and maintenance, standard material cost development and maintenance, and standard cost variance analysis.
  • Be an instrumental part in the new ERP implementation for both Jost US and the US Poland, primarily in the area of inventory and costing; ensure validity and accuracy of the system through analyses, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Set up new raw material and finished goods items in the accounting system; coordinate to maintain production BOMs; perform periodic cost updates.
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Assist the Controller as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or any relevant discipline.
  • Five or more years' professional experience in the accounting/finance area. Manufacturing experience preferred. Breadth of experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel. Sufficient experience with financial systems in general.
  • Entrepreneurial, inquisitive, analytical, and organized.
