Chemical Line Operator – 12 hour rotating shifts - Nights

Position: Full time.

As a Chemical Line Operator at Jost Chemical, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experts in the chemical industry and gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Responsibilities:

  • Adjusts controls to regulate temperature, pressure, feed, and flow of dry and liquid chemicals, and times of prescribed reactions, according to knowledge of equipment and processes.
  • Monitors gauges, recording instruments, or products to ensure that specified conditions are maintained.
  • Inspects equipment or units to detect leaks and malfunctions, shutting equipment down if necessary.
  • Cleans, assembles, and makes minor repairs to machinery and equipment using hand tools.
  • Retrieves, measures, and adds raw materials to reaction tanks according to product specifications.
  • Manages in-process hopper transfers.
  • Palletizes finished packaged items or packs items in cartons or containers.
  • Operates hand truck or fork lift.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet our rigorous quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work with a team of passionate individuals who are dedicated to excellence

Qualifications:

  • Chemical mixing and blending production experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow in the world of chemistry

Ability to:

  • Work in extreme cold and hot (120 F) environment
  • Comprehend oral and written English instruction
  • Lift 55 pounds and drive fork truck in safe and efficient manner
  • Follow established policies and procedures
  • Operate and maintain chemical processing equipment
  • Exhibit manual dexterity, perceptual speed and extent flexibility
  • Adopt to rapidly changing priorities based on business needs
  • Pass pre-employment physical with drug screen and physical capabilities test
