Accountant

The Accountant will be working under the general direction of the Controller, providing accounting and analytical support to various operating groups to ensure the accuracy and compliance of accounting records and to support business decision making. This is a great role for someone who aspires to hone their full-cycle accounting skills and to gradually grow into a financial analysis capacity.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and processes journal entries as needed, including areas such as fixed assets, accounts receivable, various accruals, inventory, etc.
• Extracts general ledger in report format on a monthly basis, reconciles any discrepancies, analyzes and explains any major variances.
• Reconciles bank statements each month.
• Manages intercompany billings and reconciles intercompany accounts on a monthly basis.
• Develops annual operating expenses budget. Reviews and analyzes the Actuals VS Budget on a quarterly basis.
• Develops and maintains product costing data. Provides margin analysis to facilitate business decision making.
• Assists the Controller with audit requests and year-end close requirements as needed.
• Assists other accounting staff, employees, stakeholders or customers by answering questions related to accounts and procedures.
• Knows processes and procedures of other positions in the Finance Department to provide backup and assistance as needed.
• Assist the Controller as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Experience: 2 or more years' professional accounting or corporate finance experience. Manufacturing experience preferred. Costing experience preferred.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office required. Proficient in Excel.
• Proactive, organized, with excellent communication skills.
